Education

The furthest back I can remember is at kindergarten. I used to go to a school called Bloorview Kids Rehab. I'm not sure why that specific place, but it had a program where it had a mixed class of regular kids and kids with special needs. I remember being the new kid felt kind of weird. As one of the regular kids, we learned to cooperate with each other and be friends, though there was this one kid, who got kicked out since he was too aggressive, didn't follow instructions, and got mad really easily. I also got sent to the principal's office because someone grabbed a toboggan from me and hit me with it.

Then I went to Frankland Public School for 6 years. I was the new kid again. I actually knew a couple people already, from pre-school, I just don't remember pre-school that well though. The best year was probably Grade 6, we got to go out for lunch at the end of every school week. I remember at graduation, I was the only one not crying. Everybody else was pretty much bawling their eyes out, even my friends who I thought would never cry. It was sort of funny like that though... kind of.

Then I came to Horizon Alternative with some of my friends for grades 7 and 8. The first year was a huge change, school at 9:45am, get on the subway to Bathurst Station, take the streetcar down to college street. Since school started later, I get to sleep in a bit. You can go out for lunch any day you want, I remember the only places I ever went to were, Amatos for pizza, Fresco's for fish and chips or poutine, and 7 Eleven for slurpees and hot dogs. I couldn't imagine it if I didn't get into Horizon. Here there is so much more freedom to do things how you want.

High school was a huge change, I decided to go to my home school, Riverdale. School started at 8:45 instead of 9:45 which was annoying. The good part was, I was reunited with my old friends from Frankland, which was cool.

Then I attended one of Toronto's Universities to learn about retirement and retirement homes.
