How I came to Unicornia

I came to Unicornia because  it seems a lot of my friends were moving there to start businesses. I didn't want to miss out, so I took the opportunity and started my retirement home business. Hector and I decided we wanted to find a place that was more quiet and peaceful, instead of the hustle and bustle in the big cities. We decided on Unicornia. Living in a quiet, and peaceful town like Unicornia was greatly beneficial to my retirement home business, since most seniors prefer a peaceful and simple environment. I decided Unicornia was the perfect place to create Pinewood Retirement Residences.

Education

The furthest back I can remember is at kindergarten. I used to go to a school called Bloorview Kids Rehab. I'm not sure why that specific place, but it had a program where it had a mixed class of regular kids and kids with special needs. I remember being the new kid felt kind of weird. As one of the regular kids, we learned to cooperate with each other and be friends, though there was this one kid, who got kicked out since he was too aggressive, didn't follow instructions, and got mad really easily. I also got sent to the principal's office because someone grabbed a toboggan from me and hit me with it.

Then I went to Frankland Public School for 6 years. I was the new kid again. I actually knew a couple people already, from pre-school, I just don't remember pre-school that well though. The best year was probably Grade 6, we got to go out for lunch at the end of every school week. I remember at graduation, I was the only one not crying. Everybody else was pretty much bawling their eyes out, even my friends who I thought would never cry. It was sort of funny like that though... kind of.

Then I came to Horizon Alternative with some of my friends for grades 7 and 8. The first year was a huge change, school at 9:45am, get on the subway to Bathurst Station, take the streetcar down to college street. Since school started later, I get to sleep in a bit. You can go out for lunch any day you want, I remember the only places I ever went to were, Amatos for pizza, Fresco's for fish and chips or poutine, and 7 Eleven for slurpees and hot dogs. I couldn't imagine it if I didn't get into Horizon. Here there is so much more freedom to do things how you want.

High school was a huge change, I decided to go to my home school, Riverdale. School started at 8:45 instead of 9:45 which was annoying. The good part was, I was reunited with my old friends from Frankland, which was cool.

Then I attended one of Toronto's Universities to learn about retirement and retirement homes.

Childhood and Family

So I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on May 9 2000. I live with my dad, my mom, my brother, Alexander (everyone just calls him Xander), and my dog, Furgie. Throughout my childhood I spent a lot of time with my extended family, mostly my cousins on my mom's side. Most of them live in Newmarket, which is about an hour's drive north from Toronto, lots of my Uncles and Aunts are farmers. Usually we see my cousins Jason, Sarah, and David, and we play video games, or go into the woods behind the fields, sometimes we find hunting posts in random trees. Other times we spend time with my cousins Matthew and Emily, they live in Markham. Both of them are in University somewhere. It's been a while now, but every now and then we hang out with Nathan and Alexis, who live in Calgary. I haven't seem them for a while now. On my dad's side I have two cousins, Sophie, who is about 6 or 7, and Sebastian, who was born only a couple months ago. Apparently there are a lot more people I don't remember, or haven't met before.

Throughout my childhood, one of my favourite hobbies was Lego. It's still one of my favourite hobbies today. I would make almost anything I could imagine, and I would collect all of these different sets to add to my collection. I remember we had so much we had these huge bins filled to the top with Lego pieces, and then there were so many bins that it was hard to move through the basement. I still collect Lego to this day.
