What we do for fun/"Family traditions"

Over the last few years we have bought many things for Dwayne and Bartholomew.

There was this one time where Hector, Ben, Daniel and I all bought a trampoline for all of us. Or another time where we all bought nerf guns so we could have nerf gun fights every now and then. Sometimes the kids are running around the house, shooting at each other, and we have to tell them to go outside. Sometimes we have entire household nerf gun fights where sometimes yells, "NERF GUN FIGHT!" And then a nerf dart comes flying out of nowhere and you barely have enough time to dodge it, then everyone pulls out a nerf gun and it becomes a nerf gun war. At the end there are nerf gun darts all over the place. Now I carry my nerf gun around whenever I'm in the house.

Theres also my huge collection of Lego I keep in the basement and in my room. There's literally a wall covered by a shelf of bins filled to the top with Lego. Theres also a huge table with all my models on a huge landscape, as well as other tables to build stuff on. The kids like Lego too, it's just I don't think they are as interested as I am.

In the basement there are also video games and movies. Mostly when the kids are asleep or on the weekends when the kids are allowed to play video games.

Theres lots of "family traditions" and stuff we do for fun at our house. When theres no homework or stuff like that.

Pets

Dwayne and Bartholomew have been begging for a pet for quite some time now so I have finally decided to go take a look for once. The two of them were searching on the internet for cute pets when the came across a picture of a chinchilla. I remember as a kid, I always wanted a chinchilla. So I decided to go to the pet store and buy two chinchillas.

The two of them were joking about, "What if we got two chinchillas? Then we could have baby chinchillas!" After that I though, "Hey that's not a bad idea..."

Once I got to the Pet store I had to buy all the stuff for the two chinchillas.

  • Two Chinchillas
  • Cages
  • Chinchilla Food
  • Chinchilla Treats
  • Chinchilla Dust
  • Toys and props
So far the kids are taking good care of the two chinchillas and they even had babies which we were all pretty excited about. They have plenty of space to run around in, and I think they are all happy in their new home.

Voting

Voting is very important, it gives you a chance to state your opinion in how your town is governed. Not voting is like saying you don't care. You don't have the right to complain if you don't vote. So I am voting for Matthew Freedberg for the next mayor of Unicornia.

Our mayor candidate's preparation was not wasted. When Roy Buck, an very wealthy businessman purchased the mill and eventually closed down. So many people were put out of work. The mill was one of our primary sources of income. Now that it is gone, the future of the town's economy is uncertain. This just goes to show how much Freedberg's plan would benefit our town, by becoming less dependent on the mill.

Becaused of this I am convinced that Matthew Freedberg is the right mayor for our town.

Midnight Madness

The Midnight Madness event was a huge booster for all businesses in Unicornia. It was also a great opportunity to show off my new webpage with a whole bunch of details about retirement homes and Pinewood Retirement Residences in particular.

I took extra care into making everything as informative, interesting, and appealing as possible. I had details about many things such as:

  • When to consider a retirement home
  • Our services
  • Our Staff
  • What the building is like
  • What it looks like
  • What your private room will be like
  • What do you need
  • Business information
The webpage was a huge success, a lot of new residents applied for Pinewood on Midnight Madness.

Town Issue

Roy Buck, a very wealthy businessman has purchased the mill. The mill is one of Unicornia's most important sources of income. Now Roy Buck says that the mill will be closing down shortly. This will put many people out of work and get rid of the town's major industry. The mayor candidate had said he wanted to become less dependent on the mill, in case it shut down for some reason. Now that it actually has shut down, I'm starting to think that the mayor candidate would be the better choice in the next mayoral election.

At first I thought Roy Buck was actually helping the town's economy, but now I'm not so sure.

Thoughts on the Mayor and the Mayor Candidate

Currently I feel the mayor candidate, Matthew Freedberg is the right choice for our town.

His focus is to improve the towns economy. He wants to increase job opportunities, decrease unemployment, and increase tourism. All of these would be greatly beneficial to all the business owners in Unicornia. He is also planning to create a boardwalk.

In addition, he wants to keep investing in the mill. At the same time he wants to become less dependant on the mill, in case the mill shut down for some reason. If that were to happen we would need other sources of income. This shows good planning for future results.

I'm sure our current mayor is working very hard, but i think the mayor candidate could greatly improve our town.

Becoming a Parent

Becoming a parent was a difficult decision. What would the child be like? How many? Would their be any psychological problems? Would they go crazy all over the place? Would they get along with everyone? Would they break stuff? Hector and I decided to live with our good friends Ben and Daniel. We pooled all of our incomes to pay for the house we currently live in. It was nice that we had each other to talk to, but there was something missing. Hector and I decided to adopt two kids, Bartholomew, who is now 10, and Dwayne, who is now 12. I decided it would be better if they just called me Justin rather than Dad. We haven't run into any major psychological problems yet, so everything is running smoothly more or less. I plan to be the best parent I can be.
